4 Aug 07: The All Powerful God
- God is able to protect those who are faithful to Him (Dan 3:17).
- There is great power in prayer.
- We can trust in Him
- ... yet God holds them "in the hollow of his hand" (Isa 40:12)
- ... but God measures it by the width of his hand (Isa 40:12)
- ... yet God says it is but "dust on the scales" (Isa 40:15)
- ... God calls each star "by name" (Isa 40:26)
- God is the Judge of all men (Heb 12:23b).
- God will judge our works (2 Cor 5:10, Col 1:10).
- God will judge our thoughts (Jer 17:10)
- No secrets can be hidden from God.
- What you think shows what kind of person you are.
- Philippians 4:8
- God is a righteous judge.
Scripture Text: Luke 10:31-35
In times of need, do we react like the:
- Priest - does not care about the situation?
- Levite - does not care enough about the situation?
- Samaritan - care enough to help regardless of what is at stake?
How should we respond when compassion is called for?
- Be willing to demostrate a heartfelt expression
- Be willing to offer healing
- Be willing to pay the cost for helping
Scripture Text: Isaiah 40:25-26
- God must be enthroned at the centre of our lives. We should not let anything else take God's place.
- God is bigger than our problems. He will bring us through the storms of our lives.
- Life is about a continued surrender to God. We need to take on His cross daily.

What is wisdom?
- Wisdom is not just knowledge but also understanding of what is right and wrong (Proverbs 2:6).
- To be wise, one has to use your intelligence to choose and do what is right, just and good (Proverbs 2:9).
- God is the source and giver of wisdom (James 1:5).
